Give the Gift of Clean Water
Adopt a Wicomico River Creekwatchers Site!
The Adopt-a-Site program allows community members to sponsor a Wicomico River Creekwatchers water-quality monitoring site, helping to cover the costs of sampling and analysis. By sponsoring a site, you directly support local efforts to monitor the health of the watershed, providing vital information to the public and helping to inform local and regional decision-making. Sponsors receive unique water-quality reports, regular updates on conditions at their sponsored site, and recognition for their contribution to safeguarding the Wicomico River.
What You Receive as a Site Sponsor ($1,000):
- Monthly water-quality reports for the sponsored site.
- A personal email from our Lab Coordinator within 48 hours of sampling if bacteria levels exceed the swim limit.
- Invitation to an exclusive meet-and-greet with WET Board members, staff, and Creekwatchers volunteers.
- End-of-season report summarizing water-quality findings.
- Recognition on the WET website.
Wicomico River Creekwatchers serves communities throughout the Wicomico River watershed, including most of Wicomico County and parts of Somerset County. Since 2003, this program has been scientifically monitoring water quality, educating the community, and providing objective data and trend analyses to support informed decision-making by both government leaders and residents.
The Wicomico Environmental Trust (WET) champions a healthy environment for all. As a 501(c)(3) public charity, WET works to protect and preserve nature in Wicomico County and the Chesapeake Bay Region through science-based education, advocacy, and restoration.
